Christmas With Attitude for Retail, Service, AND Professionals

By Darrelyn Dunmore

What is your attitude going to be over the holidays? It is time to psyche up, get ready, and let’s do Christmas with an Attitude!  With a Great Attitude. People are hungry for some positive and upbeat experiences.

A Google Survey https://www.thinkwithgoogle.com/consumer-insights/consumer-trends/pandemic-holiday-shopping/  was done that analyzed how the pandemic is going to affect the holidays. One example was that one-third of the shoppers who normally shop on Black Friday are not going to this year.

75% of shoppers said they will either shop online or browse online for ideas before buying. How is your online presence? Even if you do not want to set up a shop – post pictures on your website or social media of gift ideas.

THE GOOD NEWS - 66% of those surveyed said they plan to support small businesses. What are you doing to get in front of them?

Some innovative ideas are to have online parties, allow special clients to come in off-hours by appointment so they feel more comfortable.  Remind your clients that you are still COVID proofing. Call it germ proofing – flu season is around the corner. Let me know if you are doing something out of the box and I will promote it.

A simple way to grab some attention is to clean up and dress up your windows for the holidays. People are checking you out as they drive by. They are not impressed with how many signs you have. If your building and windows are dirty, cluttered, or messy.  Well, what would you think? That prospective client is thinking the same thing. Give the outside of your business a winter cleaning. The weather is perfect right now!

Especially at Christmas people are driving around Foley. Because of all the decorations the City of Foley puts up, we have quite the reputation as the Christmas City. Think about how your building or business can grab eyes.  Dress up your window. Use your window to create a picture – create interest. For my Foley Main Street businesses, if you don’t feel like you are up to being creative, call Foley Main Street.  We will help. If you are a professional, use a themed window. Themes such as caring, giving, or even the “we are here for you” theme. What is your favorite charity? Design around your charity and give them a plug.

Come on – you can do it!  Get some Christmas Attitude!

No matter what your business, product, or service is - another interesting fact is that when people are searching in google for “near me” those searches have increased by 100%. What are you doing to grab that market near you?  Do you have a Google Business listing?  Next week’s article will cover this. There are many new options in Google Business that will help you be more prominent.
